When painting her subject from life, Isabelle aims to give them a vitality with an intensity that matches reality. With portraiture the spirit of collaboration between sitter and artist forms the heart of her process when capturing a likeness. Through observation and conversation during sittings, certain subtleties of expression and character are revealed that inform the creation of a portrait. A painted portrait becomes the amalgamation of multiple moments lending it a depth and longevity unrivalled by a photograph.

Alongside painting portraits from life Isabelle is available for a variety of commissions including landscapes, still life, figurative work or something more bespoke according to the client’s personal vision. She strives to capture the scene with a livliness that records the vitality of the moment or subject before her. She is well-equipped when it comes to understanding a brief, collaborating with a client and communicating clearly in order to produce quality work.
